The Pantone Color Institute has released a seasonal outlook for the color palette that will feature products at New York Fashion Week.
Color trends for the spring / summer 2022 season reflect consumers' desire for balance after the pandemic, offering "comfort, clarity and safety" while allowing for "spontaneity, excitement and joy."
Pantone analysts presented ten basic shades and five classic colors. Primary colors includes: playful fuchsia, sunny yellow, classic blue, pastel blue and pink, another more “dusty” blue, emerald, blood red, dynamic purple and warm brown-beige.
The classic shades are a muted clean palette of milky and gray, with added khaki and a slightly beige color.
These colors are designed to combine "calmness and comfort with free optimism and the desire for joyful adventure”
